Encouraging the HR Capacity Building in Logistics Industry within ASEAN Countries

LOGISTIKNEWS.ID – As a regional organization, AFFA (ASEAN Federation of Forwarders Association) has been encouraging all members in 10 Asean countries to increase the service level in ensuring the excellent flow of logistics services.

Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi as the Chairman of AFFA has been supporting all AFFA members in Asean countries to focus on developing Human Resources. Logistics as a blood vessels of economy has to be handled and managed by qualified and modern Human Resources.

AFFA has created a special body to develop and establish vocational training named AFFA Logistics Institute (ALI). By the high support from ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) as well as Japan Government through JAIF, AFFA Logistics Institute (ALI) has succesfully developed standars curicula in logistics development and had also conducted Training of Trainers (TOT) attended by 100 trainers from all ASEAN Countries.

Suprapto Suwaji, The Executive Director of AFFA, added that the training materials also being harmonized with the international standard from FIATA – Geneva (as the top of world logistics organization).

Each country Logistics Association has the task to disseminate the training program and ensure the training runs well. Each FIATA and AFFA members have to also revalidate the training program to get the validation certificate from them to be honoured as the official training centre registered internatonally.

ALFI Institute, as the training body of Indonesia Logistics & Forwreders Association, has been validated as the only official training centre in Indonesia certified by FIATA Geneva.

During Pandemic Covid 19, ILFA and ALFI Instituted have developed new model in learning method. Applying digitalization and online training, ALFI Institute has succesfully conducted training of various programs on Basic Logistics program, FIATA Diploma, FIATA Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management, UN Escap training, Customs Procedure and IMDG Code. Total graduates during 2019 – 2022 has reached 2,077 graduated.

Since the periode 2000 – 2022, the total of 6,517 persons have graduated from ILFA & ALFI Institute on those vocational training programs.

Suprapto Suwaji added, this report has been presented during 43rd ASEAN Transport Facilitation Working Group (ASEAN TFWG) held on 27 – 29 September 2022 where Indonesia is elected as the Chairman of ASEAN TFWG since 2021.

Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, who is also the Chairman of Indonesia Logistics and Forwarders Association stated, ILFA and ALFI Institute has the next plan to continue applying digitalization method combined with offline program to ensure the HR development to provide sufficient support to the industry for the most effective and efficient logistics operation.[am]
